Morpho-physiological Parameters to Determine Drought Tolerance Wheat: Use of Morphological and Physiological Parameters to Study Drought Tolerance in Wheat Israr Ahmed

Wheat is one of the most widely cultivated food crops and is the staple food in more than 40 countries for over 35% of the global population. For the morpho-physiological analysis seventeen parameters were study. Analysis of variance (ANOVA) revealed that the genotypic difference was highly significant (p< 0.01) for all the characters. From the study of cluster analysis based on morpho-physiological dendrogram the varieties Satlug-86 and Lasani-08 were most distantly related ,so these two varieties are best for hybridization. The variety Dirk is best for drought, Miraj-08 for yield per plant, Sussui and Chakwal-86 for both drought and yield.
