In Azerbaijan the main piece of legislation regarding petroleum activities is the Subsurface Law and Law on Utilization of Energy Resources. Neither of them comprises provisions on rights and obligations for transit. With the rapid development of energy sector in Azerbaijan, the understanding of transit and rights under transit agreements is important for the further improvement of the system.
