This book discusses the principles underlying the design, synthesis, and catalytic application of porous nanoreactors. The main points of focus are the key proceedings made over the past one and a half decades in the design and development of mesoporous silica and their application as catalysts in various organic syntheses. The catalytic behaviors of channels of the porous materials containing acidic or basic and metal functions were reviewed. The extent of activity depends on the steric of the nano-channels and chemical or physical properties of the supported functionals.
