Against the backdrop of human-induced habitat shrinkage and fragmentation, started reflecting in the form of escalated man-wild animal conflict across the length and breadth of the country. Thus, we meet with frequent incidents of wild beasts straying into human habitations, farm fields etc. causing in the process, heavy damage to life and property of the people. In this back ground, that rescue of wild animals in distress for their subsequent rehabilitation in the wild or the capture of problem-causing beasts and their translocation away from the area of conflict assume relevance. The best option available to the forest/wildlife managers is chemical restraint of wild animals .
