Bone is a specialized mineralized connective tissue made up of an organic matrix of collagen fibrils embedded in an amorphous substance with mineral crystals precipitated within the matrix. It is highly vascular, living, constantly changing mineralized connective tissue with complicated hierarchical architecture.
