The issue of whether schools inculcate values in students they teach has been a bone of contention. Inculcating values in schools is the process of providing opportunities for the continuous development in students the knowledge, skills and attitudes related to certain values which lead to behaviour exhibiting those values. Therefore, it is important that as students progress through schooling, the education they receive should provide them with instructional opportunities (both explicit and implicit) that will help them develop their beliefs about what is right or good.
