This book is a project report written to explore the manner in which tertiary students understand as well as use citation in their writing. It covers the different types of citation in which the author explains how each type can be used effectively in writing. A wide range of reporting verbs as well as citation markers are a writer's most valuable tool. It also demonstrates the technique of citing while maintaining authorial voice. Instead of viewing citation as a mechanical exercise done to please the lecturer; citation is, however, a method used to buttress one's argument in academic writing. This book is useful to both students and lecturers in tertiary institutions as it explores a subject which cuts across all forms of academic writing.
