Performance assessment is a measure of authentic tasks such as activities; exercises problems that requires workers to show what they can do. Some performance tasks are designed to have workers demonstrate their understanding by applying their knowledge to a particular situation. In this context, the study was carried out with the objectives to assess the performance of Female Community Health Volunteers (FCHVs) on Acute Respiratory Tract Infection (ARI) case management in community level. A descriptive post test only study was conducted in 50 FCHVs from 6 Village Development Committee (VDCs) in Dhankuta district. The study site was selected randomly. Primary data were collected through interview, performance summary sheet and observation checklist. The study showed that the mean age of FCHVs was 41 years; most of them were from age group 40-50 years (34 percent) and among those, more were from Literate (34 percent) group. The overall performance of FCHVs on ARI case management was good.
