Eine rein wirtschaftlich orientierte Ästhetische Chirurgie steht in der Gefahr, Wünsche zu erfüllen und gleichzeitig zu wecken. Diese Problematik liegt in der getragenen Machbarkeit und Ideologie der Jugendlichkeit. Besonders der Profit basiert auf der Ausnutzung dieser Ideologie einer Leistungs- und Konsumgesellschaft. In ethischer Hinsicht manifestieren sich Grenzen und Grenzüberschreitungen in der Gefährdung der sozial-emotionalen Identität, die sich aus Sicht der Psychologie ergibt. Nicht die Machbarkeit stellen wesentliche Kriterien des Vorgehens in der Ästhetischen Chirurgie dar, sondern hohe Verantwortung, hohe Qualifikation und ethische Aspekte. Wenn die Ästhetische Chirurgie diese Aufklärungsarbeit weiterhin vernachlässigt, wird sie sich mittelfristig als ärztliche Institution abschaffen. ********* Aesthetic surgery has evolved to a mere commodity with focus on needs and wants of their clients in the past years. As a pure market oriented profession aesthetic surgerey includes the danger to fulfill and at the same time to create needs and wants. This problem is based on the ideology of youthness and its possibility of realization. Especially by making profit relies the sploitation of this ideology on a co-operative and achievement oriented society. From an ethical point of view the limits are manifested from a psychological standpoint in the respect of individual identity. High standards of responsibility, morality and qualification should be followed with the treatment, not the pure technical possibility.
