Eustathius Macrembolites
Eustathius Macrembolites, who lived during the second half of the twelfth century, was the author of the romantic novel De Hysmines et Hysminiae amoribus. The work, encompassing eleven books, represents a twelfth-century attempt to revive the romantic novel of ancient Greece. This is the first critical edition of this novel, previously only found in R. Hercher, Scriptores erotici Graeci II, Teubner, 1859.
