On the road or during travel - local and overseas, every person briefly loses the relative security of his or her residence and workplace. That is why travel understandably precipitates a weak link in a crime target's security chain. The extent of vulnerability is alarming considering that more than 90% of all journeys are by road where incidentally, over 85% of all violent attacks occur. Hence experts regard the highway or road as the weak link in a crime target's security chain. The implication is clear. If road and travel threats can be mitigated, 85% of anybody's security challenges would be over. Specifically, the range of threats faced by motorists and travelers would include assassination, kidnapping, armed robbery and carjacking or snatching. And towards substantially mitigating those threats, this book has been written.
