This One Act Drama provides a means by which persons may have opportunity to view death and dying from a Christian perspective. On more than one occasion, Jesus referred to death as sleeping. He told his disciples that Lazarus was sleeping, but they did not understand. He then had to use a word that was familiar with them, death. John 11 He also told the crowd at the time when Jairus' daughter died that she was sleeping, though everyone said that she had died. Mark 5:22-43 "Lazarus, What is it Like?" A One Act Drama, examines our mortality in a way that gives hope to those who may be facing the experience of impending personal death or the death of a loved one. It also reminds us that death has been overcome by the resurrection of Jesus Christ, who is able to make and keep the promise that those who live and believe in him will live even though they die, and whoever lives and believes in him will never die. John 11:25 Jesus has "destroyed death and has brought life and immortality to light through the gospel." 2 Timothy 1:10 This One Act Drama tells the story by one Lazarus, who lived, died, was buried for four days and then lived again to tell about it.
