No one in the village knows the bedraggled, weeping woman walking through their town on her way up the mountain to the dry lake. As the days pass, her actions cause the villagers to become frightened for their lives. The mayor goes to the woman to plead with her to stop. He is not successful until he is aided by a wise, old man who helps him bring a different future to the valley.
