This novel, told through the eyes of a 12 year old, with humor and family devotion, easily teaches teens, young adults, and elders about the importance of knowing how your body works. Good health is often a choice of life style made early in life to avoid the pitfalls of careless living. The signs to look for, to catch a health problem before it gets beyond help are presented. The painful results that hurt everyone, not just oneself are revealed in the story. It is the first in a series entitled Embracing Myself and My Health addressing health disparities in the African American community.
