"Aesop may not have written down any fables but does it change their quality? As a slave he would have been bound to a place and to others for the sake of necessity. But man is more than time and place. A clump of thistles is stuck to its place but it propagates its essentials for future by wind and cattle. We appreciate his life in the many timeless fables that have come down to us through passage of time. The author in the present work is attempting to imitate and not take his place. Almost Aesop shall we say?Only when one sits down to imitate Aesop one realizes how timeless he is. The drive that made a man express his essential worth then is still the same. Take the fable of the Frog and the Lion. The frog who boasts of its offspring in numbers is no different than a man who struts about millions all in stock. The lion would consider her cubs though a few in numbers, sufficient to make all sit up and notice. Such is solid fame. Fables are stories told with great economy of words and teach many qualities that can equip a child lead a successful life. Greatness of life is not in wishful thinking but right action. Alexander of Macedon has his own way to prove it as Gautama Buddha had. This book is dedicated for all who shall take a shot at greatness."
