The mysterious death of a young student unites the eminent universities of Oxford and Harvard together in fear. A second fatality, across the Atlantic, brings the FBI into an investigation that spans three continents. Wayward lecturer Eddie Jansen and his favourite students begin to realise that the deaths are a result of their research trip to Jerusalem, where they meddled in an ancient ritual designed to open a gate to the underworld. Always a cynic of religion and superstition, Jansen suddenly finds himself confronted with the consequences of their actions. The ancient Temple of Moloch was a place of unimaginable horror and decadence where it's congregation sacrificed their own children. Though the Temple was buried and the followers executed, the menace of the gate remained. Ignoring the warnings of a learned rabbi, Jansen and his students are coerced into performing a ritual that was believed to bring the Demon to life. Believing they were only humouring a senile old man and hoping to make a rare discovery, the aftermath of their ceremony had them asking a terrifying question. Are they being hunted by a psychotic cult, or have they created an opening on earth to the gates of Hell?
