Four rifle shells with cryptic markings are delivered to Finn's Pub. Annie Lake dismisses the package as a prank. After reading the accompanying note, Andrew Duffy isn't so sure. In the second installment of the Andrew Duffy mysteries, Duff and the newly formed TEAM Agency are tasked with unraveling clues that lead them into the past, pointing to an event in the Nixon era that is having repercussions in the present. Through the course of their investigation Duff and the Team stumble upon a serial killer that has been active and undetected for over forty years. The only clues they have are the ammunition and accompanying note. They soon discover that they have less than a month to prevent another murder. When the person being threatened is a friend, Duff and the team find their personal and professional ethics being challenged in order to prevent another tragedy and put an end to a possible decades long spree.
