This book provides overwhelming evidence of the need to reform the voting system within the United Kingdom and suggests ways in which the total votes at an election can more fairly reflect the number of seats in the House of Commons. The author also provides a good case for an English Parliament with devolved powers and extends this to a federal system of regional governments so that democracy can be closer to the people. Proposals to reform the House of Lords are also included. Although the history of electoral and constitutional reform has a long and weary history, it is hoped that this book will stimulate further discussion and proposals for reform.
