When I heard Alan say, 'I have cancer, ' a wave of fear rollover me. It sent my insides spinning. After the initial shock of hearing about Alan's diagnosis, I knew everything was about to change. We had lived self-sufficient lives. We could do it all on our own. But this was bigger than we were. We couldn't work our way out of this one. We knew we were going to need sone help. Even though it was difficult, I found strength, learned how to master the waves of change, and provided support and care to my husband.
