Once upon a time we believed in Santa Claus, but we quickly grew jaded. We surrendered not only the beliefs of childhood but we held loosely to what are the foundations of today. We utter the Pledge of Allegiance so often that it loses its meaning. We worship God, but we no longer believe to the depths of our being the words he taught us, "Our Father who art in heaven...."
