In the mid-twenty-first century, rampant environmental disaster has resulted in the placement of highly advanced robotic search and rescue units at the forefront of recovery efforts.



Ben Knight and his team of artificially intelligent Robomen, fresh off a mission completed in world-record time, draw accolades once again.



In the United States, the success of the robotic rescue teams has been a victory for the White House. However, as political tensions rise, successful ventures quickly become targets.



When another earthquake strikes North America, Ben's crew is once again the first to respond, and this time it means more than ever-Ben's wife and three children are among those trapped in the rubble of Chicago's Wrigley Field. With the help of Scott Adams, a talented hacker, Ben and his crew rush to save lives, but when a politically driven cyberattack causes the Robomen to horrifically malfunction, they become a threat to those they are designed to save.



As the rescue mission is thrown into turmoil, special forces operatives are dispatched to neutralize the threat. Now Ben finds himself in a race to save his family amid betrayal and a trail of evidence that places blame for the attack squarely on him.
