World War II has arrived on Marina's mountain village in Italy and she and Giorgio, her childhood sweetheart, embark on their life together. But it's not just the hardships of war--scarce food, the brutal Nazi occupiers, or even the bombs from the attacking Allied planes that threaten their lives. Someone in the village means Marina and Giorgio harm... in spite of the danger and the dark and hidden threat, Marina and Giorgio manage to go about their traditional life that centers on vineyard, olive harvest, and the cycle of the seasons.
