Stirring Up the African American Spirit Ph.d Greene

The African American experience is about hardship, overcoming adversity, physical pain, humiliation and freedom. We are at a crossroad in our culture where there are many paths to take. This book addresses the dilemma and choices confronting the Black community, such as AIDS, Homosexuality and the growing down low population, Relationship survival between African American Men and women. Interracial marriages, identity crisis among biracial children, Increased cohabitation and decreased commitment to marriage, Decreased birth of children between African American men and women. There are many forces against survival of the African American culture: Single parent families, economics, decline in educational degrees of higher learning, Me Generation, and loss of respect for elders or traditions. The question remains, can or will the African American race survive or will it become blended into the larger society and lose its distinct identity. I hope this book will educate, and inspire you to re-examine everything you hear about the Black community and decide for yourself if you are a part of the problem or a part of the solution. This is a new dawning.
