When young April McKenzie leases a mountain that she wishes to study from an Irish-American billionaire, her life takes a sudden and startling turn as he becomes her benefactor. April and her widowed mother soon find themselves subject to increasing measures of practical largess as the old man helps April with her dreams and sponsors her education as a geologist. Soon, April is caught up in overseeing all his commercial interests in Alaska and instituting a vast geological exploration program in the land holdings.
