My Journey to 2020 Pia Lord

This is the story of my vision, vision loss and return to perfect 20/20 vision through the high technology developments of modern ophthalmology. I hope to encourage those who have low vision and suffering vision loss to get treatment sooner rather than waiting until they are nearly blind. I was functioning as a mom, wife, daughter, sister, friend and colleague without realizing how much vision I had lost. Only upon having a new intraocular lens implant can I compare the amount of detail and color I had lost. Through this surgery I now understand the degree of "coping " I truly was doing in my everyday life for about two years, all the while hoping I would miraculously have my sight restored by supplements, smoothies or exercises. The true miracles are in my eyes and the generous caring, love and support from doctors, nurses, healthcare workers, friends and family I received. This is my journey through the first thirty days and beyond of my therapy.
