Thomas Garrett is a police officer in the Pacific Northwest who returns from a holiday in Europe in 1979 to find that he has been taken out of uniform and given a temporary assignment. After fellow officer Vince Ricardo botches a response to a simple prowler complaint he sets a chain of events in motion that started in the 1600's involving murder, Witchcraft, Satanism and juvenile delinquents. Garrett will have to sort out the significance of a severed human hand and bring the sleepy little town of Baycove back to it's tranquil state of affairs.
