The Sr? Jap J? S?hib is a prayer written by the first Sikh Gur?, Sr? Gur? N?nak Dev J? and is the initial prayer from the Sr? Gur? Granth S?hib J?. A lot of the commentaries on this text vary in depth and can sometimes be overbearing for the seeker. This commentary is very different. It is a commentary by the great Nirmal? scholar, Mahant Ganesh? Singh. Unlike other Nirmal?s his commentaries are pretty basic but the essence of the definitions is not lost within the simplicity. I wanted to provide both the original commentary in Gurmukh? along with a translation of the commentary. This is due to the fact that this commentary has been out of print for a significant amount of time and to those seekers of the original commentary it is available again.
