When I first was diagnosed with cancer, there were so many things I wished someone would have told me. This book contains a series of letters written from me to other patients, their support circles and even connected professionals. The letters contain information such as what to say when someone has cancer, the importance of self care for caregivers, and how to help someone with a life threatening diagnosis. While the concepts shared in the letters are primarily focused on cancer, almost everything is also applicable to other long term diseases. This book also contains my story but it is not the focus and therefore is at the end of the book. It is my hope that it will help smooth the journey that family and friends take when someone in their midst is diagnosed with a life threatening disease.
