In volume 2 of "Up In Smoke," Celia has chosen one of her Michigan suitors to join her on her vicarious journey back down to earth. Josh is anxious to become part of Celia's life back home in Maryland, but he is afraid that an undisclosed secret from his past will keep him from starting over with her. In Celia's old neighborhood, meanwhile, trouble is brewing in the lives of several women in the book discussion group she rejoins. Jealousies threaten to split the club wide open, and they even infiltrate Celia's relationship with Josh as they both begin new jobs. Celia must come to terms with Josh's continued interest in acting, and also try to help her next-door neighbor navigate the treacherous waters of divorce as she herself has already done.
