Samantha Woods in her mid - thirties had relocated from the mainland, despite her family's disapproval, to the Island of Maui. She had created a reputation for herself in her chosen field of archaeology.

Her idyllic life is about to change forever, when - after 15 years Mike North, her college sweetheart suddenly pays her a visit. Reluctant to rekindle the friendship, she agrees to meet. She finds that his visit had an ulterior motive, asking her for employment. Samantha succumbs to his request and employs him, despite feeling apprehensive.

While working on a dig site a small box is unearthed containing curious artifacts, opening a plethora of a series of events. Mike's true indentions become all too real when his past catches up with him. Sam has now become an integral part of his deception.

In a desperate attempt to decode the mysterious contents, they are led to the island of Lanai, where the secrets of the government's involvement become all too clear.

In a race against time will Samantha be able to reactivate a scientific experiment, exposing the truth of human existence on earth, or will the truth continue to be hidden from mankind forever.
