What did you do during quarantine? Learned French? Rewatched The Sopranos? Bruno Pieroni wrote haikus. And while that's not remarkable, reading back through the many moments of a year-long lockdown is still pretty fun. Through two-hundred-and-fifty-plus haikus that are less idyllic poetry and far more hilarious comedy, Bruno takes us back through the events of 2020-22 that we all lived through and some more personal episodes, including a mild-ish but shocking bout with covid itself, as well as a couple of episodes of personal loss and change. Still, he never stops looking through this worldwide pandemic through the eyes of someone who sees the humor in things and brings us levity, one text-message-shaped haiku at a time.
