Her personal experiences include being jumped by a mountain lion (don't ask); peed upon by 850,000 Mexican Free-tailed bats exiting a cave; and eating the other half of a sandwich first nibbled by Ted Turner (long story). Her earlier published books include Twice Upon a Kiss, (neolithic romance/contemporary time travel/medical drama), as well as the New Mexico Wildlife Viewing Guide (Defenders of Wildlife nature series.) Her career has included many years writing about New Mexico outdoor tourism-including the Santa Fe Visitor's Guide-followed by working with endangered species biologists at the New Mexico Department of Game and Fish.
