I am not a licensed therapist, however, after having read over 40 books and extensive articles on the human psyche, I feel I have a clear understanding of basic human psychology, and what is healthy and what is not. My perspective comes from personal experiences combined with education, and all I have added in this book is the wisdom I have gained. I use my life stories to elucidate how I survived a severely dysfunctional family, and have created a map to help guide other survivors out of the morass of lies, deceit, manipulation, abuse, and denial, become free from their childhood survival adaptations, and learn how to stop enabling and excusing the evil in destructive behavior. I wrote this book to help survivors clarify their view of themselves and the people in their lives, so that their survival is rewarded with health and well-being.
