When Caleb walked into the funeral home to make arrangements to bury his guardian angel, he thought all of his troubles were behind him. He thought that the never-ending tragedies of his life, including the revelation that his loving mother had murdered his father, the mental anguish of rejection, and a lifelong struggle with addictions, were now in the past.
Instead, Caleb was to find out that he was only at the beginning of the journey to redemption, and he was about to discover what part the lives of strangers with tragic pasts and lifelong troubles of their own would play. The realization that the road to redemption is long, and not a miraculous event, would only serve to ignite his anguish once again.
What role a children's bedtime prayer would play in revealing that road would come to light, but generations of betrayal, deceit, abandonment, abuse and lost love were still in the way. Who was to blame and who was to be saved? Could the cycle ever be broken? Did Caleb have the courage to fight for redemption?
