Capricia Mancini, newly widowed, walks away from investigating an explosion in a Rome coffee shop. She has decided to take the job offer in Seattle, Washington. The one she feels she should have taken three months earlier. Ardelia Brubaker and her son, Rolf, are viciously murdered in a carjacking in Seattle. Of the recent thefts of upper end cars, theirs is the only one involving violence. The more Capricia digs into the case, the stranger it gets. She finds that Rolf Brubaker was a hacker. Thinking this may be a lead, she enters the world of the darkweb with help from another hacker. If the case wasn't strange enough already, Capricia finds something else she never expected. She finds new love in an unforeseen direction.
