AFTER THE BLOOD: ARCHANGEL is a story that follows Detective Jake Castillo, a New York City Homicide Detective haunted by the demons of his troubled past. With a marriage that is falling apart and at odds with his sister over the circumstances under which their criminal father was killed, the detective finds his life in a state of turmoil. In the midst of his personal chaos, Jake and his partner are assigned to investigate a string of brutal murders in the city in which the killer has left behind a single identifying clue - a prayer card of Saint Michael, the archangel. As Jake delves deeper into the case, he finds that the killer's 'victims' are not all that they appear to be and is forced to reexamine his own code of justice as he attempts to stop the Archangel from killing again. While the detective's investigation takes several unexpected twists, Jake finds himself targeted for revenge by Carlito Colon, a powerful crime figure recently released from prison and a man with whom both Jake and his sister share a common bond. As Colon moves to restore his family's criminal empire to its former glory, Jake soon realizes that the number of people he can trust is limited - both in the department, and in his own family.
