Abena Dakwa is a So Cal native born in Los Angeles, CA. She currently lives in Victorville, CA; loves travel, spicy Alfredo pasta, Sci-Fi/Action films and beaches. Born to a Ghanaian father and an American mother, she is a true African American. Abena, means "girl born on Tuesday" and if you ask her if she was actually born on a Tuesday she'd reply, "Yes, I was born on a Tuesday. But, not the last one!" Abena has a MBA degree and is currently writing her dissertation to satisfy the final portion of her doctoral degree program. Abena started her journey as a writer at the tender age of twelve years old. Writing was the only way she was able to fully express herself as a shy, introverted, middle child. Writing is her go to form of therapy and has helped her navigate through the intricacies of life. Abena writes to free the pent up emotion that accumulates over time from the constant "tongue biting" she endures to spear the feelings of others. In a time when everyone has become overly sensitive to everything, it is refreshing to read a book that is written by an individual who isn't afraid to dream big while remaining open, honest and truthful about how she feels, what she has experienced, and what she seeks.
