Jewish detective Aaron Guerevich's list of friends becomes shorter by the minute after he's assigned to investigate the murders of two Syrian Muslim store owners in Scottsdale, Arizona. His Jewish friends see his role as an insult to the memory of his uncle, who died in Israel's 1948 War of Independence. The Arab community sees him as a Zionist with an anti-Arab bias.
