Studies show 1 in 4 people will experience mental illness in their lifetime. That's 25 percent-one full quarter of the population. The numbers have drawn considerable concern in recent years. But the "1 in 4" statistic reveals something uniquely liberating: these are not unusual issues we're talking about. We are not alone. With so many of us impacted, it's time to normalize the conversation. Mental health is a community matter... and churches are at the heart of community, "so that we can comfort those in any trouble with the comfort we ourselves receive from God." (2 Corinthians 1:4) There's one thing we all have in common: Jesus is hope. Struggles with depression, anxiety, alcohol/addiction, or trauma don't have to isolate us from community in Christ. With this group guide and personal journal, we'll walk through Scripture, prayer, awareness, and experiences, sharing space in the struggles as we now encourage one another to step from Darkness Into Light... together.
