Summer school meant I could wipe the slate clean. I could become Sadie Peters, popular and outgoing, instead of the shy nobody only my best friend loved. My intentions were pure. I thought I could handle the transition to Alcott High, become someone else, all while keeping my integrity intact. But I was wrong. Those four weeks taught me things about people I never knew possible. I lost my best friend to a dangerous situation, and it was all my fault. All because I wanted to become someone I wasn't. Maybe who I was wasn't so horrible after all.
