It's only a few short days before Christmas and when Carol, Joe, and Amika go to find out why Bethany has not been around, they find she was suddenly admitted to the hospital after coming down with an unknown illness. After they visit with her later that day they decided they wanted to do something special for their friend. In the act of planning, they discover two other younger kids who will also be in the hospital over Christmas and suddenly the kid's goal has expanded.
