THE ROAD FROM JAMESTOWN is an historical narrative describing the Marcum family who descends from a Jamestown settler, Thomas Marcum. Included in this narrative are actual transcriptions taken from letters written during the Civil War when one branch of the Marcums supported the Union while another branch tried to remain neutral only to suffer disastrous consequences. The Road From Jamestown describes the early settlers, in particular the Marcums, Wards and Clays who settled early in the seventeenth century. A narrative, this work is based on research into genealogy and the history of the period.
