It has probably been a long time since anyone has heard of eating a mulberry pie, or sipping a jug of mulberry wine, but perhaps that will change. One of the increasingly popular trees these days for food and shelter is the mulberry. Until recently, there had hardly been a favorable mention of this under-planted fruit tree, but now there is a greater interest in large scale mulberry orchards. In the landscape design, mulberry makes a nice medium-sized shade or windbreak tree.
