As a young woman, Betty believed the only place for her in ministry was in a supporting role to men, specifically a husband. Then, as a divorced, middle-aged, single woman, God confirmed her call to be a pastor in a most unusual way. After over twenty years of full-time pastoral service, Betty Anne Johnson, recalls the places in her ministry that brought her the greatest joy and some of her deepest sorrow. Through her personal story, Johnson offers encouragement to pastors, male and female, single and married, with a vulnerability and candor that speaks to new and seasoned clergy and denominational leadership.
