After losing her parents to the Spanish Flu, Floriana is forced to leave the city where the disease has taken over. Determined to escape into a world of her own and eventually get revenge for the way she had been treated, Floriana is thrown into a journey to find herself again. With the help of her guardian, Connor, she works to gain new strength, but she feels that even Connor can't wait until his responsibility of her has ended. As she shuns men and craves love, she is caught in a trap of her own making, and wonders if getting revenge is worth it and whether she will ever escape her fears, and find true happiness.
