A real Tide Mill between Newhaven and Seaford, Sussex. A glimpse of a girl's face brings Owen running back from Seaford to see her. His father manages a Mill in London and is intrigued by the possibilities there. Owen and the girl unearth a fifty year old tale of stolen coins, love, loss and mistreatment of a child. They reunite the subjects, whose story intertwines with theirs. The Mill is taken over, improved and revitalised. And there are other stories, other people with experiences of their own who come into the bigger picture. A lot of real local geography and the area's history are there, along with the life of 1960s Sussex.
