Siveril is the prince of the Northern Isles, and next in line to rule the Malda. During a raid on an elven city, he took Elluin hostage, intending to use him as leverage in the war against the elves of Lathai. But Elluin is no ordinary child, wiser than any elf or mortal should be at ten years of age, and soon Siveril finds himself questioning the morals he has held for his almost eight centuries of life. Will he side with the Malda, killing Elluin and driving the war into the southernmost parts of Illistra? Or will he break away from his traditions and aid the Lathai? It was easy to read, the depictions were gorgeous, and I felt like I was with the main characters. The writing style reminded me of other epic novels and I have a feeling that this series could be among them once published!""The Exiled Prince of the North works beautifully as a novella, and immediately draws in the reader, immersing them in a detailed world with ages of history and conflict.""You can just feel the deep magic embedded in the world, and through little hints and details, Daytona writes this age and lore in very well.""The smooth, swift pacing and intricate features draw out a shorter work in a way that keeps you hooked on every word. Snappy, clever dialogue keeps the pace quick. Gentle, heartwarming moments make for great bonding between characters, and balance out the chilling, darker undertones.
