Ronnie Kaye knows about monsters. He's lived with them for his entire life. And he's always been afraid of monsters. Now that he's in fifth grade, his parents decide to put their foot down. His father won't allow him to burn the nightlight anymore. Ronnie's mother is sympathetic but stands firm in backing up his father. What can he do? Without the protection of the nightlight the monsters will surely get him. Ronnie confides in his best friend David. In response to a school assignment they set off together on a journey to learn about monsters, once-and-for-all. Are they real? Do others believe in monsters? Are there different kinds of monsters?
