The long war between the Elemental Lords and their foes, the Fallen Lords led by the Corrupter, has stood at stalemate for generations. Unbeknownst to the Elementalists however, the Corrupter stands on the brink of opening up a new front in the long conflict, far to the north, beyond his adversaries influence, among the wolflike barbarian people who call the northern tundras their home. A tribe of the far north falls to evil and begins an unheard-of campaign of conquest among the semi-nomadic wolflike people whom the civilized races name the Wulfzerka. Unopposed by the primitive hunter-gatherer tribes they conquer, the self styled Kingdom of the Iron Fists upends the long held traditions of their simple people at the Corrupter's bidding. The dark god seeks converts, slaves, and power to use against his distant foes, and believes in the north his designs will go unopposed and unnoticed by his rivals. Never in the wildest of the Corrupter's twisted dreams did he imagine that ancient foes he believed long defeated would rise up once more and appoint champions to contest his will. As the Elemental Lords and the civilized southern races that follow them enjoy the long peace of the stalemate, war rises in the north. A war that will see the wolf-like Wulfzerka, or Ulfgiffa as they call themselves, forced to take sides in a conflict not their own. A war that will see all the north torn assunder. As the opening moves of this deadly game are played out, a lone outcast sits upon the shore of a desolate northern fjord, dreaming of an end to his exile.
