Map of My Heart Rebekah Palmer

Map of My Heart takes its title from a journal I kept as a middle schooler in rural Wisconsin in a parochial school. This collection of poetry omits the darker parts of me, though it definitely alludes to them, because I didn't talk about abuse I endured or the multiple identities that made up my soul until I was a young adult. As a kid and teenager and young adult, I did a lot of surviving instead of advocating for myself. It is this snapshot I hope my collection presents to my readers: a young female with dreams and hopes who doesn't realize just yet that she must admit and own her reality and darkness to achieve honest living.
